zigzag
I was at a jazz festival this weekend, and one of the acts told me he was using an ES-353. I'd never seen or heard of it. It appeared to be semi-hollow, similarly shaped to an ES-335, but more hollow sounding, and the pick-up selector was on the right-side horn. Double parallelogram inlays. Did I mis-understand the model number? Can someone give me a history?
zigzag
I now believe this guitar was an ES-150DC, but the body on the one I saw was as thin as an ES-335, and I'm pretty sure the pickup selector switch was on the horn and not a tone/volume dial. I'm going to keep looking.
zigzag
Found it! ES-350T... It is an ES-350 that is a thinline. I guess I was wrong about the ES-335 shape, but I guess I was remembering the thickness. Anyway, it had a great jazz box sound without being quite as warm and woody sounding. JimR56
The model dates back to 1955, and they originally had P90 (single coil) pickups.
