Replacing Mini Humbuckers With Full Sized Humbuckers

Anyone ever done this or know if it's possible? Obviously the hole would need to be enlarged, but I'm just looking for any more info on if it's a possibility or not, and if so, how did it turn out.

Can't seem to find much info online.

Thanks!

Hi

What kind of guitar are you working on and which mini's are in it, alnico or ceramic, this would determine if its worth it or not,

or it is just cosmetics.

Epiphone Riviera with NY Mini's, looking to swap with Gibson Classic 57's.

I'm interested in those new Sheraton Reissue's too, and they come with Mini's.

I have another Riviera with stock humbuckers, and I love the tone, so I would imagine the 57's would sound killer.

I do like the look of full sized over mini's too.

The Rivieras with mini-hums are in demand, and they're no longer being made, so I would think you'd come out ahead to sell the Riviera with minis and buy a Riviera (or Sheraton) with full-size humbuckers. Then if you felt the pickups still needed swapping you wouldn't have to do any further routing to the guitar, just a straight swap.
