Hello,

I am such a Gibson fan.

However, I love the sound of my HD28. To be honest, my dream is to own a Hummingbird. Could you give me your thoughts on the new ones? I play a bluesy style, and my J-45 suits this well. However, I find a lot of other acoustics are stiffer to bend on. What are the new Birds like? I am thinking of trading or selling my Martin for one. I love the sound of the Martin and I might be crazy to even think of doing this!! Anyone any advice would be appreciated to users who are familiar with both.

I would not trade a HD 28 for a Hummingbird... thats just me... HD is just a better guitar.

I have a D-28 and not a HD-28 in which the only differences is a D-28 does not have scalloped bracing and the HD-28 does and so they sound a bit different, but my D-28 it is without a doubt the best sounding (at least to me) acoustic I have ever heard. If you are that big of a fanboy that you need to trade or sell what is considered one of the "Best"(which of course is personal choice) guitars ever made, I think one day you will regret it. At any given point in time my guitar collection ebbs and flows, but the 2 guitars I would run back in my house to save if it was on fire are my Martin D-28 and Gibson BB King Signature Model.

But the guitar is yours and it is your choice to do with it as you please.

I hope you take no personal offence to me using the term fanboy.

As many 'Birds as there are out there, I would have expected a great response...would still love to hear the discussion.

Go play them side by side somewhere and let that be the determining factor.
