  1. My 2015 Midtown Standard

    04 September 2017 - 05:06 PM

I finally got a bit of time to take a picture of my NOS 2015 Midtown Standard. I really love everything about this guitar. It plays beautifully, action is very nice and I love the neck. When I first got it it had the GForce tuners and I immediately swapped them out for a set of Grovers. Also, the Standard does not come with a pick guard so I had one made for it. The stings were too light for my taste so I put on a set of Curt Mangan nickel wound 11-52's w/a wound G string.

I am very happy with this guitar!

  3. Midtown Pickguard Source Found

I have been searching for a pick guard for my 2015 Midtown Standard. Gibson will not sell you one. So, I sifted through lots of online folks who claimed to be able to provide me with a correct 5 ply pick guard. I finally found one that had the correct pattern and the correct 5 ply material. I got mine from Mike Quick and he was a pleasure to do business with. Everything fit perfectly and it looks awesome.

  4. Pickguard Install Question

    27 August 2017 - 02:46 PM

Hoping someone here can answer this for me. I will be installing a pickguard on my Midtown Standard Hoping someone here can answer this for me. I will be installing a pickguard tomorrow and I will be doing it with a Kluson pickguard bracket.

Now, the bracket comes with 3 screws. One which threads into a bolt for the top of the bracket and two others which are wood screws. One is a little longer than the other (see photo) and my question is, which one goes into the top and which one into the side?
  5. I Really Miss Her

    02 August 2017 - 09:16 AM

II started playing when I was 10 years old and I'm now 64. Over the years I've bought and sold lots of guitars. Some of them I can't even remember and some of them I look back and wonder what was I thinking when I bought it in the first place.

That being said, there is one that I wish I had never sold. It was. My 1980 Gibson ES Artist. She was a great guitar and as Ringo Starr would say, "now all I have is a photograph."
