  1. Me............not actually a current photo. This was 55 years ago.
  2. I would love to have the Gibson Austin strap. I love the look and I love that style. It is pricey so I think I'll ask the wife if she would get it for me for Christmas.
  3. That is gorgeous. I don't like gold hardware; but it sure looks perfect there.
  4. "You don't have to be a poor black man to have the blues. Rich man, poor man, white, black , red or yellow. Every man has the blues sometime," Albert KIng
  5. Cool! I see you are in Alton; did you catch the band at the free concert Saturday night at the bandstand? It was Saxx Roxx and they are very good.
  6. ....and the cars not too shabby either.
  7. Wow! My thoughts exactly. I really don't need another guitar. Nowadays I'm just a bedroom player and already this year I've bought a new amp and the Xvive U2 wireless system (which I love) and pragmatically speaking I can't justify getting another guitar right now, but I do really want this one.
  8. I'm wondering if anyone on here has bought one of these? I'm really smitten with the looks of this guitar and am wondering if those that have one already are happy with their purchase. Also, given that this is a 2018 is there any chance that the price might drop on them or if anyone knows who has the best price on them?
  9. Very nice collection! I love that bass!
  10. Does anyone know if the lithium batteries in the Xvive U2 can be replaced when they no longer hold a charge?
  11. When you realize that all of the commercials run during your favorite T.V. programs are for things like, AARP, life insurance, class action litigation against drug companies, reverse mortgages, etc.
  12. My friend on his Midtown Custom:
  13. I have the Fender Mustang GT 100; which is the 100 watt with one 12" speaker. I love this amp! In the past I had a Fender Super 60 which is a tube amp and the Mustang sounds every bit as good as the tube amp to me. Also, I got the 4 button footswitch which allows you to use the 60 second looping capability of the Mustang. Now a days I'm just a bedroom player and I am very happy with this amp. I really love using the Fender app on my iPad to control everything on the Mustang. I am in my mid 60's and I love the new technology.
  14. I have a 2015 Midtown Standard and I love it. It plays beautifully, action is very nice and I love the neck. When I first got it, it had the GForce tuners and I immediately swapped them out for a set of Grovers. Also, the Standard does not come with a pick guard so I had one made for it. The strings were too light for my taste so I put on a set of Curt Mangan nickel wound 11-52's w/a wound G string. This guitar has very nice tone and I could not be happier.
  15. Here is an image of my ES Artist for you. Made in the 80's and one of the nicest guitars ever made by Gibson. A beautiful ebony fingerboard with offset mother of pearl dot markers along with the nicest tuners ever. Each tuner folds out and is a winder.
  16. My first order of business would be to identify and fire whoever initially green lighted the idea to go with the Robo tuners; along with anyone working for Gibson that still thinks it's a good idea and ditto for whoever thought it would be a good idea to desecrate the back of an LP with 4 Frankenstein bolts so that they could have pick-ups without pick-up frames. The Horror!
  17. I use Imgur and I have no problems with it. I used it to post this image of my Gibson. When you post an image from Imgur be sure that you are using the, "BBcode" which is for sharing images on forums. I hope this helps.
  18. I was luck enough to see Queen back while Freddie was still with them. It was in Montreal and it was a fantastic performance. Freddie was one of the greatest front men I have ever seen perform and I have seen many. I knew Adam Lambert had "it" way back when I saw him do a cover of Tracks of My Tears on American Idol. Adam is very talented and filling the shoes of Freddie Mercury is an immense task. Glad to hear he is doing a good job.
  19. Midtowns are not hollow bodies.
  20. While I agree with you in theory, pragmatically speaking I disagree and here's why. Just like anything else you are buying or selling; the item in question is for all intents and purposes worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. That being said, if someone is willing to a pay a premium for a COA for whatever reason, then it is not meaningless. Also, as a buyer if I'm choosing from two guitars and between the two all things are equal, I would choose the one with the COA over the one that does not.
