  1. This 250 doesn't look ugly to me....
  2. If he buys anything, he is gonna have to hold it at least until the economy turns up. This isn't an attempt to flip.
  3. So a buddy asked me to help with this decision, to buy or not to buy. He found a gently used Gibson 250 Monarch. He has $50,000 in debt and makes 50k a year and has two kids in elementary school. Has 50k in his retirement fund. Is 10 years away from retirement. House payment and taxes and utilities are currently $1500 per month on an adjustable rate mortgage. Has 5k in personal savings and like 2k in checking. His wife doesn't work. He resides in the central U.S. It sounds like the seller would entertain an offer of 7k. Should he buy it? Sgt. Pepper will be ignored
  4. I can't tell you whether or not you should jump on it but I'm sure someone here can tell you if you should make that decision.
  5. Have you ever seen anyone give their purchase price here?
  6. Some of the questions here should be: how does the 4k price of the instrument fit in with your income/savings/living expenses? Are you intending on going into debt, or, paying cash? Cash is King. These are some of the things I would consider.
  7. Time for popcorn, this ought to be good.
  8. Every flip phone I owned had a camera but hey, it's not my world, I just live in it..... Interesting side note though, we recently inherited three Gibby's from 1950, they're real nice but, you guessed it, no pictures, sorry 😏
  9. No $35 per month cellphone with a camera???
  10. Can you share a video of it? Would love to hear it and see it??
  11. Are you using something that dries, maybe like a lacquer, or, something like a spray on polish like one might use on kitchen appliances for instance?
  12. Amazon.com: Mini Hygrometer Thermometer Digital Indoor Humidity Gauge Monitor with Temperature Meter Sensor Fahrenheit (℉) : Patio, Lawn & Garden
  13. Very cool. Would love to hear it. Could you post a short video?
  14. Guitarnutt, I was thumbing through one of Dan Erlewine's books and I saw some information you might find helpful. In Arizona is the Roberto-Venn school of Luthiery. In MN is Red Wing School of Guitar Repair & Construction. In Michigan is the Galloup School of Guitar Building & Repair. This is just a few. Heck, if you could work for Dan Erlewine, that would be the best education you could get. Also, take a look at www.luth.org
  15. I've acquired some knowledge over the years and a little experience, mostly a novice though.....
