  1. PD, Buc, 62… you guys are alright. 62… it was hard. Still is. I imagine a great many of you have been there. MP. Too funny.
  2. So, in the merry go round of Sal Guitars, I recently circled back to a J45 60s Reissue with the adjustable saddle. And I really like it. and yet I also like, and always have loved, all things J-50ish. There is a 60s reissue that also has and adjustable saddle. I’m guessing it sounds … SIMILAR! and yet…
  3. I’ll have the DoveBurst, any Mule you can whip up, and while you are at it bewitch me a three blink Nora Jones at the piano to duet with. Long duets.
  4. I sent three kids to college, and post grad for two of them. they better buy me a guitar like that one day. 🙂
  5. I think if I had twenty hundreds I’d walk in, tell them to set it up with low action, and say thank you for the great upgrades. ill race ya over!
  6. I love pickguards and I tinker all the time. I get it! I want to see the other one when it comes, but it seems you can’t go wrong? I want to see the Maltese cutout…
  7. Very nice. I’ll record later through my Fender.
  8. The one that looks like an 000-28 is a custom with cherry back and sides and maple binding. Otherwise same specs as an 000-28. It’s called The Cherry Hill
  9. EM, mine is a 2020 Heritage Artisan Aged 535 in Ebony. The pickups are Seymour Duncan Seth Lover SH55s. It’s a warm classic bucker sound. I love it. It has a nice classic sound; sometimes I get Gretsch-y tone out of it… like compressed old POCO, and sometimes just some good slightly driven blues. Warm blues. And it has a nice fat clean tone as well. i don’t go on any electric forums, because that’s just a rabbit hole I don’t need! I also have a Mexican tele that does its job. But the Heritage is great. I went in with the aim of buying a translucent red ES335, and this one sounded just as good, but it was used, so I saved a few bucks. You can see it on the end here.
  10. Sweetly done and meditative EM. I have a Heritage 535, and my son has a blonde Gibson ES 335. I recognize the tone. I love mine with a little compression.
  11. EM… I envy all of you that can bond with a few instruments and keep them. Mine come and go like apparitions. Who knows . One day a Dove. Or a D35. Maybe I bond with families of guitars. Martins. Gibsons.
  12. I’ve seen blinged out guitars, D45s, and crazy done up J200s. But Prairie… your guitar is the most perfect blinged aesthetic I’ve seen by any maker. All time. Cherish that…
  13. Brown Dove In Flight. whoa.
  14. Well… I dig the guitar. It did need a pretty drastic setup. I know post purchase the real reason the prior seller must have sold it… he or she tinkered too much. The neck bow was too steep. And they brought the truss rod nut to the point of break. I had a north jersey shop straighten the neck and lube and correct the truss rod. It plays like butter now. Ironically, this is the second used guitar that came to me this way. The other one turned out to be a fantastic J45 as well. Also, I bought a bone adjustable saddle from Philadelphia Luthiers, and have gone back and forth with the Tusq saddle. They are VERY different. The bone saddle brings power, and just a thicker sound all around. Beefier trebles as well. I initially thought “wow, that’s an amazing upgrade!” Yet today I tinkered and put the Tusq saddle back in with a string change, and man… this sound is pleasing too. It’s a Bird sound. More quiet, but more harmonious. That “syrupy” word comes to mind. Well anyways, I like this version better…CURRENTLY. 🙂
