I bought the new Ozzy album last night.  I don't buy music much anymore and especially new music - this was an exception.

I got fed up with Google after they killed off Play Music and replaced it with YouTube Music.   They are holding my purchases hostage (can't find a way to download some of them).  So I checked out Amazon Music.   It's exactly what I was looking for assuming they never play ads over my purchases.  Can download my albums.  Works on any platform.   I also found I had the MP3 downloads available for a CD I purchased for a friend years ago.

    Do you like the album?

Yeah, our government. Broke away from England cause we were sick of taxes, now look at us.

No, we weren’t sick of taxes. We were sick of being taxed without representation.
I couldn’t let that go. I have a teaching credential in History. 🙂

  3. Got an email today from Sweetwater. Looks like they are joining the fray for selling stuff. They have something now called the “Gear Exchange “.  You can buy/sell gear on it.

Maybe the competition will help lower some of the fees.

Same principle.. If you look around just about everything has gone up in price.. A lot of things have doubled, or more, in the past 3 years..  Just because you paid X for something, whenever, there's no guarantee that it's value can go up or down in the future...

Point being Something is worth what someone is willing to pay... Like it or not... It just is...

There's a market for everything. We may not like it but that's the way it is....

NO, not the same principle at all.

    Apples and Oranges...

But you go ahead and think you're right. [smile]

Prices these guys are asking is a Rip Off etc..

So that’s like saying a beautiful mint original 1963 Corvette Split Window Sting Ray shouldn’t be worth more than it cost New? That’s Nonsense!

Value is determined by the market & what someone is willing to pay.. Just because “One” can’t afford it doesn’t mean the rest of the World needs to change… Again, Nonsense!

Nobody is saying that. Were not talking about a 1963 Corvette Spit Window Sting Ray here. Were talking about a regular Les Paul Studio from 2016 that cost me $ 680 and now sells for over $1000 6 years later. How is that comparable to what a 1963 Corvette costs today???? It's not. [confused]

  6. Yeah, that looks pretty close to  being the same. I have had minis that were very close to being the same. Not quite as close as yours. I have also had some that were significantly different.

Their location, of course, will also make a difference in how they will  sound as well.  I don't know anything about replacing the magnet, so I can't help you there. But that sounds like something that might work. You may want to just try them out the way they are first to see how they sound. You never know, you may like them the way they are.[smile]

I’ve known him for several years, he’s a good friend. He does all my work & I refer him everyone I know.. Yes, I will pay him a fee… I’d have to pay Reverb, EBay etc..

This will be a whole lot easier.. I’ll show by Appointment.. Customer can try out & inspect.. They can Buy & pay Cash, or don’t.. No Websites, Shipping, Boxing & all the other hassle…

Not to mention those guys who want to return & get full refunds.. Warranted or not… I’d rather avoid that altogether with face to face dealings….

That sounds like a good deal to me. Win-Win for both of you without all those hassels you mentioned. I wish I could do that![thumbup]

I want to bypass the whole hassle!!! Wait til you read what's happening with Fed Ex!!

I'm trying to set up an arrangement with the Owner & Friend of a fairly large Guitar & Amp Repair Shop in my Area where I can advertise on Craigslist & the interested Party can meet me by appointment at the Shop.. If they like it hand me Cash & Adios!! If not no big Deal...

I'm curious. Why would the shop owner be willing to do this? Are you giving him any kind of incentive?

  9. It's nothing new that the prices of guitars on Reverb and other places are very high from what they originally cost. And Gibsons probably have the highest markup.

I bought an 2014 SGJ in 2014, for $480.  It was at the end of the year and they had lowered the price somwhat. I now see this exact same guitar going for $700-$1000 dollars on Reverb.

And I bought a Les Paul Studio in 2016 for $650. I see them all the time on Reverb for $800-$1400.

It just irritates me that so many people try to rip so many people off.  And yes, I know it's not new. But it just seems to be so bad nowadays.

I'm  really glad I bought those guitars new when I did.

Because I couldn't afford to buy them used today![smile]

Here is the 2017 Gibson SG T my new favorite guitar. I looked on the Gibson website as I thought his guitar was plek’d  but I did not see it there so here is a bit more information on this guitar design from sweetwater. I think this SG rivals competing brands custom shop models for thousands less.

Where is? You say, here is the 2017 Gibson SG T, and then you follow that with a bunch of words. That's not it. That's just a sales pitch you have pasted in there.[blink]

I would much rather here YOUR take on it. Not what Gibson wants me to think about it.

  11. Playing music is supposed to be fun.  Unless you are a working musician who does it for a living, it should always be fun. And even then, it should be fun most of the time.

I'm like you. I have played in public a few times throughout my life. But I just like to jam with other people and have fun.

I agree. Fun is important when it comes to playing music!

Is it 118 in Sacto today? That place gets hot. My aunt, uncle and cousin live there. Last time I was in Sacto was in 1986 for a Dead show at the outside Arco place.

    Nice job Rob.

No, it's supposed to be 92. But it does get hot here. It cools off significantly most nights though. We get a nice delta breeze from the San. Fran. Bay and it can go down 30+ degrees when the sun goes down.

Did you see them at Cal Expo? That is an outdoor venue here in Sac. Arco is all indoors and is not around anymore. It has closed. In fact, I think Cal Expo no longer has concerts anymore.

I was there on May 20th 1992. I still have some matches that sombody gave me while there. It was the only time I have seen them live. It was a great show and I will always treasure that experience. I moved here in 1986.
