So I was able to “pre order” one. At least that’s what I was told. Contacted a few guitar centers and one guy there told me basically to go to another GC pay for it well just the amount. And he will get it transferred to his store and “pay for it”. So after a few weeks he still ensures me I have pre ordered the guitar and waiting for shipment from Gibson. But I have yet to receive anything from guitar center to confirm my order or anything like that. Any advice? You guys think I’m good?

I would send a message to fellow forum member https://forum.gibson.com/profile/107188-orchid121480/

As he works for GC he might be able to confirm your order.

Yep they are gone. You can still buy a NG case though with a glue glob for $400🤯

And in extremely good health. If this gem is the maple version, can we please hear it.

Sorry it's mahogany.  Sounds incredible though. Picture makes it looks a bit better condition than it is. Has a couple of cracks and numerous dings. No neck reset though, replacement bridge and frets the rest is original.

Did a little investigation too - the ones seen were all long. 1453, , , not a small number. And maybe some were added in 64.                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Wonder how many survived. Should we guess 7-8-900.

    Mine survived 😉

Two more available on Reverb, both over $8k. I feel like the number of people willing to pay this much must be very, very small. We'll see if they sell.

Well both listings have a few watchers. Not saying they will sell for the asking price but certainly they will sell for considerably more than original price. I reckon Gibson could've priced these models a lot higher and they still would've sold all 200 no problem.

I know its obvious you guys want to get your hands on them weather Noels name is on it or not. I baffles my mind  why Gibson doesn't take a peak at this forum (and maybe they do) and read what the guys who actually buy their products want. I'm not talking abut the customer dictating the specs that is what the custom shop is for. A J-150 is a model they made and took out of production and now obviously the machines are tooled up again to make them.

I agree with JC. I think it would be priced right in-between a studio and an standard SJ-200. So potential studio buyers would more likely shell out the extra cash for one and SJ-200 buyers would save a few bucks buying essentially the same guitar minus neck/headstock binding. Basically it would take a away sales from those two popular models.  Seems like  it wouldn't make any sense from a business standpoint for Gibson.

    Yeah it's the same one.

That'll just earn you a ban from Reverb. Not really worth it, imo.

Of course, it's no surprise that the 'scalpers' are crawling out of the woodwork. Whether it's Limited Edition guitars, Adidas trainers or GPUs, it's going to happen one way or another. It's just always a bit sad when you see it.

Even sadder that someone is actually willing to pay the asking price.

And someones already flipping one on Reverb. Asking for double the RRP.

I'm not linking it because I honestly think it's disgusting. 🤬

Yeah I saw that also. Funny there is a thread on the AGF about this guitar. Lots of the usual negative comments about Gibson and signature models in general, people are idiots for buying them etc. I did reply to this  AGF post that these would sell for a premium in the used market.

I agree!  That is bumming me out and hope it is not correct - maybe it’s because NG is a wee lad?  That might be the deal breaker for me and go back to the SJ-200 - 1.725 like other models would have been ideal!

Yeah, I do hope it's incorrect. I was checking on the Gibson website and I don't see any other models with that nut width.  Would be a deal breaker for me also. I cannot find a spec for the the original J-150's nut width.
