Seeing how Slash is the Gibson record label's initial premier artist since 2021, it shouldn't be surprising that he would be held to the same demanding contractual standards that the majority of other artists who are contracted with Gibson, or other record labels, are. Suffice it to say, if Slash had enough money to create his own label, or fund his own tour, he defiantly would have done so.  Yet, just like when he was with Geffen, he is now at Gibson's mercy. Sadly, I feel that his personal choices are contractually subservient to Gibson's rule, at least until his contract with them expirers. Boy, would I just despise being "forced" to play incredible Gibson guitars, and get paid to do so. Oh, the horror!

Slash has enough money for that.

Can't say I begrudge him. He ignited my interest in Les Pauls as a young'un, and I still hold what he did on UYI as some of the finest rock ever made, and yet he appears to be very humble.

AND he's the only one who can get away with sunglasses indoors without looking like an idiot.

You may be right about the Jessica. I saw this on Youtube..  Its an odd interview as he has an interpreter which isnt whats odd, just that they usually cut that sort of stuff out..  At one point he waits so long for her to translate that he gets bored and picks up the guitar while he waits 😄

Guitar World posted that Gibson had one at a pre-NAMM thing, and included a photo, so I believe it's confirmed. Guessing 5k, and guessing 7k for a Hetfield Explorer if that comes out.

Hey ya'll! Yeah I got it! I been so busy playing with my " new toy" I haven't been online at all until right now! lol OK, here's the low down. The playability is just like I remembered. So smooth it practically plays itself.  Sounds great, feels great in my hands. Two things, it is slightly heavier than my '79 Silver burst, (or feels that way because I'm old now), and I have been spoiled by the 8-gauge Ernie Ball strings I've been using. I'm not sure if there are 9s or 10s on it. My old arthritic hands are having a little trouble bending them. They feel like 10s, but it may just be the EB extra slinky 8 - 38 ga. are much easier to play. I'm also looking into a complete setup by a pro. ( lower action, fret filing etc).  It isn't definite, but I'm weighing my options. On a 1 - 10 scale overall, I give it a 9.5.

    I think they're 10-46.

I started watching Gimmie Danger a while back, but it just didn't click. I'm not a big Iggy or Stooges fan.  Hey look its the clip again of Iggy smearing peanut butter on his chest, and he is bleeding profusely cause he cut his chest with a broken bottle.

Not the best documentary, but the Stooges kicked ***, IMHO.

I guess this is technically a biopic and not a doc. Its called Priscilla. Its about Elvis meeting Priscilla in Germany and their courtship. Its pretty uncomfortable to watch Elvis as man in the Army, and 24 at the time, get the hots for a 14 year old. It shows him giving her pills when she was underage. Her parents let her leave school to go stay with Elvis for a bit. Plus you know E was banging anything and everything that walked.

Downright creepy. I love Elvis, but jeez.

So how different is the J P one going to be compared to the Slash one they did? Color? Pups? Price? Its gonna be an over grown SG with 2 necks, 18 strings and 4 pups.

Why doesn't Alex Lifeson get one. I saw him play that white one he has on the song Xanadu almost every time I saw Rush.

Don Felder too, a white one. It could be the F U Don Henley model.

I can't imagine them selling many JP doublenecks, because, well, not many people want a doubleneck guitar, and it's gonna be expensive too.

This makes me want to start a band so I can get Animal to come and play with us. That would be the bands main objective  😄

My favourite part is when he shouts "I ANIMAL!!"

Of course you didn’t, because union folks  back in the 19th and 20th century literally laid down their lives so we could have weekends off,  8 hour days, and safe(r) job sites.  People have mostly forgotten the bloody history behind fair wages and livable work conditions.

The Italian Hall Massacre is just one instance where anti-union folks went to extremes.  75 people died, many  were children, when an anti-union activist shouted “fire” at a Labor sponsored Christmas party.  Strikers were often shot upon by militias and police,

The blood was shed on both sides, but in the end,  it was the union strikes, and egregious deaths, that ended the robber baron stranglehold on workers and exploitation that I mentioned above.

It is partly government protections that arose out of the strikes and part pure market forces that cause non-union shops to toe the line with union benefits.  Owners know if you don’t treat your workers fairly, they can always walk out.

This is why efforts at union busting is so dangerous for even non-union employees, and why we have seen slips in protections over the past few decades.  Once the owners get the idea they can squeeze their employees a little more, without repercussions, there is no reason not to see how far they can push it.

I’m not a union shop, but I treat our employees as if we were because they could always either jump to one, and I want to stave off the disruption if they felt they needed to start one here.

This is what the youth of today should focus on, rather than naughty words that bruise the feelings of oversensitive folks on the goddamn internet.

No, that is the function of the selector. It implements a route for the electric signal. (so we have 3 different routes. When the neck PU is selected, the bridge PU is offline and its generated signal is bypassed)

Advice: don't ever leave a finger in  that toaster. 😁

    I thought so. Thanks.

My toaster is currently on the fritz, after I washed it in the aquarium, but thanks anyway.

  10. When the PU selector is on one pickup only, is the signal still routed through the other (silent) pickup before it goes to the output jack?

As you can hear, I know so little about this sort of thing it's a wonder they let me own a toaster.
