  1. Good morning, fortuneteller.

The Murphy Labs Les Pauls feature a body made of Honduran mahogany and a maple cap, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard.

The specs you find read like this, generally:

Top Wood    -  2-Piece Hand-Picked Figured Maple Attached with Hot Hide Glue
Body Wood   -  1-Piece Lightweight Mahogany
    Neck Wood    - Solid Mahogany

    Digging deeper;
Honduran mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla) is grown and harvested in a variety of locations around the planet.
Gibson has set up a global commodity chain that supplies them with 'sustainably certified' Honduran mahogany by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

It is grown in Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala, though the majority of it apparently comes from the plantations on the islands of Fiji.

That's all I believe to be true on the matter.

    🙂

  2. A blonde lady marched into the library very much upset.

"I want to return this book, it is terrible!" she shouted.

The librarian quietly intoned, "Please keep your voice down. What is wrong with the book?"

"Well, it's got lots and lots of characters, but no plot whatsoever!!"

"Ah well then. You would be the one who made off with our phone book."

  3. Aw, man.

I saw her live in 1983 over in Germany, at a USO show.
It was literally in a large maintenance bay, normally full of deuce and a half trucks.

Nice stage, great musicians, and Suzanne Somers sang and danced really nicely.

She had this schtick where she would call up a soldier, and sing some sort of romance song to the normally-shy and red faced GI.
Somehow or another, our Battalion Commander, a Lieutenant Colonel, got up and took the roll of the Soldier.

    It was hilarious.
    1. He was a complete ****. Hated by all. Self-serving, arrogant. A really horrible person.
    2. The crowd was booing practically all thru the bit, and Suzanne was a real trooper, carrying on with this perplexed look on her beautiful face.
(Why are these Soldiers booing their Commander??)

Other than that, she and the crowd had a really good evening of it.
    Good times, good memories.

I will pray for her family.
    Rest in peace, good lady.

    😐

I saw the Cubs when I was stationed in Great Lakes. They played the Phillies. The game the next day was the first night game at Wrigley with lights.

    Chicago Dogs are killer.

    August 8, 1988.
    I remember it well.

They only played a few innings against the Phillies, and then the thunderstorms rolled in and ruined the rest of the evening. Game postponed.

I reckon the first complete night game under the lights was the next evening, on 9 August.
The Cubs beat the Mets in that contest, which was fine by me.

Any of the short scale basses should do. I think a Fender J or P is 30 inch scale. Not sure what short scale basses are at.

Fender Jazz basses and Precision basses have a 34 inch scale length.

The Fender Mustang, Mustang PJ,  the Squier Bronco bass, and the Squier vintage Jaguar bass are all 30 inch scale.

    🙂

  6. I am glad to hear that there are cousins to the mystery guitar out there.
And halfway around the world at that.

I must confess, I sold my Shadow Bridge mystery guitar last December, as I was cleaning out my office, and preparing to retire out for good.
Our Safety Officer was enamored with it, and it looked good on him, so I let him have it for a hundred bucks.

I'll get to see it every now and then, as I am the volunteer musical director for the flight test agency's annual Christmas party in the big hangar (coming up on December 15th).
The fellow who owns the guitar is working on his cowboy chords, and I'll be practicing him up to play on a few songs on the big flatbed stage.

We have  ten or more players and singers in the organization, and my goal is to get them all practiced to the point where they are comfortable playing in front of a few hundred coworkers, family, and friends.

    Good times.

  7. LPS6G20HDNH3 equates to a Gibson Les Paul Standard 60's model.
Made from 2019 until present day.

Finish is indeed Honey Lemon Burst.

This was the Gibson description for that model:  "Features a solid mahogany body with an AA figured maple top, and a SlimTaper™ 60s-style mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and trapezoid inlays. It's equipped with a classic-style Tune-O-Matic™ bridge, aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, Grover® Rotomatic® "Kidney" tuners, and gold Top Hat knobs with silver reflectors. The 60s Burstbucker™ pickups are loaded with Alnico 5 magnets, audio taper potentiometers, and Orange Drop® capacitors."

22 Medium Jumbo Frets, 12 inch fret board radius.

The examples I can find all look attractive, but I agree with you, there's not much of a 'sunburst' appearance, as in dark around the edges and lighter in the middle.
    Still, damned fine guitar!!

    😃

I still ride my mid 90's hard tail Specialized Stumpjumper.

I rode a Nishiki back in the mid 1990's.
    Loved that bike.

Have no idea what I did with it.
Probably lost it in the divorce.
    Along with my dignity.
    And a LOT of money.

    😑
