If you down tune half a step you get one more note a whole step and you get two extra notes.

M<y wife said she wanted me to treat her like I did when we were dating...
So last night I took her out for dinner and a movie, then dropped her off at her folks' house...

At first glance I thought Leon Patillo was Keegen-Michael Key

I remember Fantasy tried to sue him for plagiarism for copying CCR's sound...he said, "They're suing me for sounding like myself"

Good for you. I never got the idea of getting front row to see Gallagher and cover up with visqueen. I'd take all that splatter as a badge of honor. And maybe not wash those shirts ever again.
I had it hanging on a curtain rod in our bedroom. It got packed up when we separated. I hope I still have it somewhere...
I remember laughing so hard when he was doing his "smashing" finale I got a shot of mustard in my mouth...

I just read that the comedian Gallagher passed away at 76.
Aside from the Sledge-O-Matic, he did some really funny, insightful observational stuff a la George Carlin.
Had front row center seats to see him once. My wife at the time and I wore white tee shirts. We looked like we'd be shot with double ought buckshot afterwards...

Nitro gives me GAS...
How did this joke get all the way to me ?

I read some time back that Billy Joel doesn't sell the front row seats to his concerts. He has his roadies got through the venues and find the folks w/the worst seats and give them to them. Said he's tires of seeing bored, rich white people in front of him during his shows and wants his real fans to sit there...

If you want the real truth - Gibson probably doesn't care. They know there are people with enough money to buy their guitars, and if you can't, another person will. Gibson are still here, and almost went under a few times, but didn't like Guitar Center, still around. As a thanks for keeping them around they will build guitars you want at prices you can't afford. End of story.
I had to double check this; thought you were talking about Harley-Davison...

There was a tradesman, a painter named Jack, who was very interested
in making a dollar where he could.
So he often would thin down his paint to make it go a wee bit further.
As it happened, he got away with this for some time.
Eventually, the local church decided to do a big restoration project.
Jack put in a painting bid and, because his price was so competitive,
he got the job. And so he started, erecting the trestles and putting
up the planks, and buying the paint and thinning it down with
turpentine.
Jack was up on the scaffolding, painting away, the job nearly done,
when suddenly there was a horrendous clap of thunder. The sky opened
and the rain poured down, washing the thin paint from all over the
church and knocking Jack off the scaffold to land on the lawn. Jack
was no fool.
He knew this was a judgment from the Almighty, so he fell on his knees
and cried, "Oh, God! Forgive me! What should I do?"
And from the thunder, a mighty Voice spoke, "Repaint! Repaint! And
thin no more!"- 1

It is coming out on vinyl and CD in early October. Look on Amazon. The vinyl is $180 and the CD's, I think $50 or $60.
I read an article on it the other day. They're going to offer a slew of packages: mulit-vinyl, multi-cds, multi vinyl and cds with corresponding prices. I always really like that album. There has always been talk that it was an incomplete collection and he wanted to put out a larger package all along...

These kind of threads restore my faith in humanity...all the advice you've been given is stellar..."Upgrading" to a "Real deal" SJ200 seems the logical move...I'm sure he'll be over the moon whatever you decide...

I can't believe it got to me to mention, on a Gibson forum no less, the man who is singularly responsible for more sales of B45 12 strings than anyone, Gordon Lightfoot! Happy Canada day, ya hosers!

First off, welcome to the forum!
To soften the blow a little (although ksdaddy isn't wrong), any guitar you want to protect needs a hard shell case. Especially one like that. It's worth the investment...

I just now got on my home PC and saw the picture for the first time (the computers at work block a lot of content)...wow...just...wow...

Personally, I have always found my guitars to be louder, more present and more responsive with the UST removed. A few years ago I switched to soundhole pickups and have never looked back.
So, Jinder, what soundhole pickup do you use? I've been tempted to get an old-school Dean Markley and see what I thought...

I feel like I did when John Prine died
They were both huge influences on my playing/writing from day one 'til the end
Both left behind huge bodies of work
Both had the gift of turning a phrase that was uniquely their own
When their last albums came out, I felt the same about both of them. That, God forbid, that was their final release it would be the perfect capper to their career
Both had to come off the road, succumbing to medical conditions
As the posters proclaimed on Lightfoot's tours the last few years, "The Legend Lives On"...
