telemaster03
I thought I was done with square-shoulder guitars but this has caught my eye, spruce with rosewood b/s. It looks like they have changed from ebony to rosewood fingerboard and bridge on the newer versions. I think I can find an older model with ebony for around $1400-$1500 pretty easily. Any opinions from current or previous owners? I did a forum search on this model but came up with too many results.
ChrisA83
My Songwriter Deluxe was my first good guitar, and I like it. Doesn't get nearly as much playing time as my J45 TV though, however that's just a personal preference. The J45 has a more "old timey" whereas the SWD has a deeper, richer, "smoother" sound, better for strumming I'd say. It has the ability to growl if pushed harder, but I don't really play like that for the most part. I thought the Studio had a rectangular bridge and just dot inlays, not the moustache bridge and parallelogram inlays in your picture.
EuroAussie
I owned a Songwriter Studio. Never was able to bond with it as I found it had too much splashy overtone for my liking, and also it weighed a tonne. Found a very good home however, so all's good.
