Victek
Hello. My Epiphone Dot suffers from some "neck dive" and I'm wondering if it's possible to move the strap button from the base of the back of the neck to the upper horn? I understand that the horn is hollow, but I read in another forum that it's possible to get a wood plug into it to secure the screw. Has anyone heard of doing this? milod
I'm too cowardly to do that, but... the way I hold a semi is more like what you see with BB - that is, a much more upward angle of the neck than with some guitars, and worn higher than some folks. Never a problem with neck dive. m
lengle1981
Get a strap with grip on the underside. The material straps do slide, get a leather strap and it'll solve that problem. All my semi's neck dive but most straps will hold it in place.
tweed2
Funny that this should come up again, I will be doing this "mod" to Sheri Baby, over the upcoming extended weekend. I can't stand wearing a semi hollow, from the stock pin location, it always feels like it's falling away from me. I will have to alter the "plug" a little from the drawing I did from my Casino, the access point will be a little smaller. Other than that, it's an pretty easy project and since all of my other semi hollows are set up the same, I wont have to change my strap length when I change guitars. That's a great idea though I must admit I'm too timid to try it. That might be a "mod" you can make money on

All my semi's neck dive but most straps will hold it in place. My current strap is very smooth and slippery so a leather strap might be just the thing. Is there any particular one with a rough underside you'd recommend?

I use a 2 1/2 inch suede on all my guitars and have no neck dive at all (including my Dot).
