They said everything looks good. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm considering purchasing a used Gibson from a private party. I'm told it's a 2006 Gibson Les Paul Standard with a 60s neck. The serial number - 027560310 - is right for the year but what concerns me is it doesn't say "Standard" on the headstock. It just says "60s Neck". Does anyone know if this is accurate? I don't want to make an offer until I know exactly what model it is. Of course this is my first time on the forum. I think I uploaded the photos correctly. I appreciate any help anyone can provide. I sent this up to Gibson as well but I haven't heard back yet... Gary Moore Tribute Posted January 31, 2014 Share Posted January 31, 2014 Its Just a 2000's 60's Necked Standard Before 2008 Standards came in 2 flavours a 50's neck or a 60's neck with a BLANK truss rod cover with BB Pro Pickups fitted From 2008-2011 The standard came with an Assymetrical 50's neck & from late 2011 a 60's Assymetrical neck both with a Standard Truss Rod Covers. Also from 2008 onwards the Traditional was introduced with most fitted with a 50's necked but come with 57 Classics pickups usually (Tho Some special runs exist of variants) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Gibson doesn't always put the "Standard" script truss rod cover on their LPS's. Mine is blank. If you look at pics of Paul Kossoff's Or Peter Green's Les Paul, the truss rod covers are blank. I wouldn't let that throw you...the serial number is key, as well as, the pot code. Check out http://www.guitardaterproject.org Nice looking guitar btw! Mine is a 2005.
