father_of_pearl
I think the maple neck adds a transparent sound to this guitar, thus giving it a lighter more airy kind of tone. It has that classic Gibby zingy maple tone... Man I wish I too could hear any difference between a maple and a mahogany neck and how it colors the general tone of a guitar... How do you do that Freddie?
Country-Rocker
Man I wish I too could hear any difference between a maple and a mahogany neck and how it colors the general tone of a guitar... How do you do that Freddie? I am not sure and it could just be an old GIBBY MYTH. I believe a maple neck gives a guitar a unique zingy sound. I believe I can hear it. This is the only acoustic guitar model I have ever played with a maple neck that does not have a maple body, so really I could be wrong. The walnut back and sides along with the maple neck on this one really heat up the tone. If I get a chance soon, I will try a capo on this one.
