Fender-Guild-Ren update

Recommended Posts

Taylor, in fact, may have taken what advanced niche Guild might have occupied. But it had an apparently better business and product mix.

Did you mean Taylor is a niche brand? They have been #1 in their segment for 4 years and by a very large margin in theast year.

Taylors are fine for those who appreciate bolt-on necks on a flattop.

They're neither Martins nor Gibsons. They're in a general market position such as Guild has(had) been for ages as an alternative to the longtime legends in the biz. Ask folks on the street about flattops and you're most likely to hear "Martin" or "Gibson" or both.

Gallagher doesn't win any sales figure races, but I haven't heard much suggestion that they're of lesser quality because of it, and Epiphone/Fender flattops have a lotta sales in the US and elsewhere, and I haven't heard that makes them "better."
