JimmyPagester
Hi friends, could you kindly help to identify if this Gibson Les Paul Custom, Custom Shop, is legitimate please? Please find the pictures below. Could you also advise on what to look out for, to verify if the parts are all original? For example, is the nut plastic, bridge is nashville/ABR-1, how should the back of the pickups look like, is there a metal plate to hold all 4 vol/tone pots etc? Many thanks. capmaster
Doubtlessly legit. The bridge is a Nashville as expected on a Les Paul Custom. Nut is probably Corian, i. e. a plastic material designed as artificial bone. The pots are probably mounted to a metal plate. The certificate looks like this guitar was made in 2004, so the fretboard should be genuine ebony. The pickups should be 490R/498T and look approximately like these: Hope this helps... JimmyPagester
Hello capmaster and slimt, thank you very much for the affirmation. I went ahead with the purchase and opened it up further. The back plate: This is definitely not in stock condition right? I'm quite sure, just need an insider confirmation :) The Neck Pickup: Labelled Patent Applied For. This doesn't look like a Gibson pickup to me, but requires your confirmation (resistance measured at 8.14k) The Bridge Pickup: Labelled Patent Applied For. This doesn't look like a Gibson pickup to me, but requires your confirmation (resistance measured at 7.89k!!!, even lower than the neck's) The Bridge: Please could you confirm if it's the original Nasville? Many thanks once again.
