mickbarb
Hi guys, haven't been on for a while but a little while ago i purchased a Gibson WRC. its in average condition but was wondering if anyone knows anything about them? the stuff I've read is pretty sketchy.. is it a collectible guitar? i ask because apparently only 200 were made if the internet is to be believed. thanks for your help - Mick
Jon S.
Definitely don't see these very often. They were only made for a couple years in the late 80's. Email us at service@gibson.com and we can send some info on the model to you.
rct
Is it signed by Wayne? If so, it's one of the uber rare ultra hard to find 200. The rest aren't signed, I don't know how many of those. rct

rct
I think the truss rod cover. It certainly wasn't hidden, so if you don't know where it would be then it isn't signed! rct

rct
That is the truss rod cover. I don't know what the signature looked like. I'd call that "initials", and the guitar was called WRC. I think it would have Wayne Charvel written where the WRC is on yours. As usual, memory is tricky, so I would be happy to be wrong. rct
HEADKNOCKER
I'd call Gibson as Jon S. Suggested for more info.. IIRC there were 200 Showcase models of each of Waynes creations when they were released that had a fourth mini toggle or solo switch that bypassed the volume pot, There's a wiring diagram out there, I just saw it.. I used to have a U2 & there was also a SR-71 which where set neck guitars named after fast airplanes of the time.. You sure don't see these around anymore, Getting scarce on the used market.. Congrats on the newly aquired Guitar mickbarb I think this is what the one with Wayne Charvel's signature looked like, An early Prototype..
