Wee Davy
The Hummingbird Pro is now available in the UK and has the new 2016 features. It is, however, several hundred pounds more expensive than the original which could be imported from Germany in previous years. We're used to paying a premium in the UK but this is a bit much. http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/acoustic_guitars_detail.asp?stock=150622287553002&gclid=CPf31KyZ6scCFSQFwwod1igFVw
Boyd
Wow, that is expensive, about $2766USD. Guitar Center sells them for $1930. At that price, you could almost make a quick trip across the pond, pick one up and break even. :)
jimmyboy
Import and duty tax must have cost a fortune in the Europe. The HB pro is not a real bird but great for stage. But it can easily make it look like a real bird if you can get the right pickguard for it. Jesse_Dylan
I think it has the Songwriter body, right? What about buying from some place like E.M. Shorts Guitars here in the U.S. (they do the deepest discount I've seen, more than 40% discount off retail price) and having them ship to the U.K.? Or would that not be any cheaper? Boyd is right; depending on a few factors, you could almost come to the U.S. yourself, buy one, and go back... although you'd have to pretend you weren't bringing it into the country for the first time, because then you'd be paying the duties and taxes anyway! (I might be moving to the UK someday, and my main concern is how to get my guitars there and not have to pay taxes on stuff I've already bought! Well, okay, it's not my main concern, but it is a big one.)
