looking for cool guitar shops in metro detroit area other than GC. anyone know any?

When I was younger, my brother and I would spend many a saturday afternoon visiting guitar shops in detroit.

(I grew up in windsor) We'd just go over, find a phone booth and look in the yellow pages. That was 15 years ago,

so can't give you specific references. Thanks for bringing back good memories!

Huber and Breese on the east side has a very nice selection of guitars and if you really really stretch the bounds of 'Detroit' there's always Elderly Instruments in Lansing.

thanks for the tips. elderly is mecca, for sure. i've seen ads in the metro times for berkeley music co. ever been there? also, someone on the acoustic side mentioned a place in auburn hills but i cannot remember the name. any ideas?

Berkley Music is a really small place. Not too much in the way of higher end (Gibson, Fender, etc.) guitars but a pretty good amp selection. Worth a visit I suppose, take 696 w to the woodward n exit and take that to 12 mile w. It's a few miles down and it will be on the left side. If you don't see it you won't be missing anything. H&B is much more worth the trip.

 

Not familiar with any guitar stroes in Auburn Hills, sorry.
