j45nick
Photos tend to re-confirm 1937-1942 L-O. If you could ever get a photo of the FON on the neck block, we might be able to decipher it.

BluesKing777
So the L-0 black has the binding on the back, started about 1937, so if you accuately measure the nut width, we could narrow the year down some more. If memory serves me, about 1940 the nut width became 1 11/16" up until they stopped makng them. BluesKing777.

It's sketchy at best and will not photograph...I know the second character is a 2 and the first could be a 1 or a 2 because there is some horizontal line ink at the bottom. The 3rd character also shares the same horizontal ink at the bottom...Looks like an L...the 4th is a mystery in that it is an alpha o and not a numeric 0... Thanks! BluesKing777
1 3/4 at the nut Aha! It should then be built between 1937 and the date Gibson changed to smaller nut width.....1940 perhaps. The L-0 was discontinued in 1942, according to Fab Flats... BluesKing777.
