ballcorner
Yes indeed I have played one of these and a Gibson harp guitar as well. They are so early that bracing and other tonal improvements weren't yet worked out - so I would describe them as brittle, interesting and fit for their time more than for today. J45dale
I know a guy with a family hand-me-down "The Gibson" guitar from 1914 that looks like the one pictured except it has a regular shaped upper bout. Unlike a Mandolin. It has the same oval sound hole, trimmed with white diamonds, arched top and back, and dark oxblood finish. it stays in a old casket shaped case. It sounds ok, has a neck profile like a soft-ball bat, and is missing its raised pick guard. The one in your picture is very pretty, and IMO, would be a good conversation item, no matter how it they may sound. Dale.

Jinder
I have never played one, but to me the Style O is one of the most beautiful guitars ever made. One day I will own one.
rscott4079
I also think they're amazing looking. Unfortunately I've never played one, but I also have heard that they aren't particularly nice sounding guitars. This is one of my favorite blues pics. TWilson
I've never played one, but they had one hanging on the wall at McKenzie River Music in Eugene, Oregon the last time I was in there. It was quite beautiful, much like the one in your picture.
