Aster1
That looks pretty nice!! I like my back painted clear Gretsch's too. Did you fabricate that out of acrylic or polycarb yourself or order it in? Aster
Pete B
Made out a sheet of 4mm acrylic. Rounded edges rather than chamfered.

Aster1
Did you used a round over bit in the router table? I love to work with acrylic. Poly carb, not as much but still pretty nice. Aster
Pete B
Just a dremmel, doing a rough 45 deg angle, then halving the angles, then various grades of paper finishing off with a cloth and metal polish. Doing my next one with a scraper, more satisfying
Aster1
If it's Plexiglas or Acrylite brand acrylic you can scrape the edges with like a planer knife and then use a "flame polish" technique to make the edges clear. Just a low flame on a propane torch and move FAST. My fav. is still with a 8"-10" cotton buffing wheel and some white rouge. Clear as glass, quick & easy. Fine sand it 1st to speed the process and remove anything other than fine sanding lines. Good job!! Another fun project, IMHO anyway, is to back carve the acrylic and fill with a color. If you had an Epi SG it would be a perfect place for the Epsilon "E" etched into the back & silver. Aster

Pete B
Now, there's that crappy piece of plastic between the neck and the bridge pickup, so............ Rough cut on the laser. Rounded edges and painted black on the rear Will use some sort of adhesive to attach it. doesn't really need screws.
