I suspect that the parts that contact the rim of the sound hole is the same soft rubbery stuff on the clip of a snark. If so, I would watch out for it leaving a mark. I've been using Snarks forever and always have one (or a TC Polytene clip tuner lately) on the headstocks of most of my guitars (Nitro finished Martin and Gibson acoustics, Nitro finished Fender electric, etc.) and no tuner have ever left a mark on any of my guitars.
