rct
Not a Tony Iommi pickup. Did Gibson ever really put these pickups into any of the 2011 SG Standard 24 Frets? No, the idea was the 50th of the SG, so the 57s are as close as we can get to the originals today. The retailer LEs are a good way to use up parts, hence the Iommi pickups in them. rct
truetone6
Thanks for the info. I took some pictures in natural light so you could see the color and body shape better.
truetone6
The original models where advertised with an Iommi in the bridge but they shipped with a smooth covered 57 like the one in your case, they didn't have a sticker. I fought with Gibson to get mine replaced with an Iommi. Did they replace the pickup in your guitar with an Iommi?

truetone6
Yes Cool. It's so weird that they would ship that guitar a 57Classic disguised as a Tony Iommi. How do you like the Iommi? Is it a good match with the Firebird?
DiamondJig
The Iommi is a strange one. I did not get along with it and switched it out for a Dirty Fingers that I put the smooth cover on to match.
