junior cop
I bought a standard reissue melody maker with the wraparound tailpiece. Its got a great sound kind of like the old SG junior sound - thinking of upgrading and getting the joan jett MM with the tunomatic bridge and ebony fretboard etc. Worried that I am going to lose that lovely single coil tone as the Joan Jett one has a burst bucker pickup instead of a single coil - can anyone advise me? dem00n
Now ive played both of those guitars if u want the best vintage tone u stick with the melody maker. But u want a lil more rock sound u got with the joan jett guitar. Pesonaly i would stick with the melody maker its one of my fav gibby guitars. junior cop
worst case i thought that the Joan Jett MM would be a poor mans SG with just a single pickup. i like captain beefheart for sound - nice n wirey
