Californiaman
If you're into the blues Jimmy Rogers is one of the best. Jimmy Rogers has played with some great musicians in his day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmPKKQAGoW0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93qEZd4GQvo&t=63s
jdgm
The MAN - one of my favourites.... Muddy's rhythm guitarist, had an amazing distorted tone on the old records. A great singer/songwriter too - he wrote "Walkin' By Myself", "You're The One", "Sloppy Drunk", "That's All Right", "World's In A Tangle", several other classics. He once said of the Chess recording sessions - "First we'd do Muddy's stuff, then Walter, then me"...which partly explains the atmosphere on some of his recordings...by that time the drink was flowing. J.J. Cale produced his album "Gold Tailed Bird" (Freddie King played lead), and the later "All Stars" album (2nd link above) had the superstars lined up several deep to play with him. One of the Chicago blues greats.
Californiaman
Ah yeah. That's good info. I've been listening to Jimmy Rogers and Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters lately. That album jumps! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRaTsKfNOgI&t=154s
