Pinch
I suspect I know the answer full well already, but... If a guitar comes with a 46-9 hybrid set of strings, you can put regular a regular 46-10 set on it without doing anything to the nut or damaging it, right? Never tried it before. ksdaddy
Pretty sure the nut will be forgiving enough for that little bit. I would hope the manufacturers account for people using anything from 0.008s to 0.013s. You'd know right away, as the string would bind in the nut slot, be very slow to react to a turn of the tuner knob, maybe even 'ping' when it does react to being tuned. I'm describing what you'd more likely find on a wound string but I imagine a plain one has the potential too. I think you'll be fine.
Marky Forrest
I don't know why that would be a problem. I've tried 008s, 009s and 010s in my LP Custom without a problem. My SG Standard HP came with the hybrid set that you mentioned but I wouldn't worry at all about changing to 010s. Have fun!
