BandHub has closed down

For any of those here who ever thought that might be better to play guitars across the miles, rather than talk about guitars, BandHub offered a mostly-workable option. It's members submitted clips which were somehow synced together into a collaboration. The person who started the "collab" would invite others for the parts that were wanted to add in, be it guitar, keys, vocals, percussion, whatever. This also might've been a good way to get less common instruments onto tracks we were working on, even if we didn't have anyone local to us.

Despite all that was invested, they were not able to make it work. Here is the notice they'd sent to members:

Bandhub shutting down March 15th

Unfortunately the Bandhub Financial Sustainability plan we outlined in a previous communication didn’t work out - the response to the new pricing was insufficient to reach the revenue levels required to sustain Bandhub operations.

Because of that, Bandhub is shutting down on March 15th.

While the news is sad in many ways, we should all think about the incredible things that we have accomplished as a music-making collective.

Not only a huge amount of incredible music has been created (450,000 collabs, 1,200,000 recorded tracks, more than 3 million minutes of music!), but more importantly a large amount of incredibly meaningful relationships were forged in Bandhub. Those will remain for a lifetime.

We are proud of all the work done by the Bandhub team over time - and the incredible joy of music and friendships that resulted as a consequence.

We are enabling Pro membership to all members now through March 15th, so everybody can download their collabs if they want to.

Any questions or comments please reach out to bandhub.sustainability@gmail.com

Thank you for all the great times! Bandhub will always be in our memories!

Those who had the Pro subscription have been downloading their collaborations, before Mar 15, many putting them up to YouTube. Until the technology allows us to get a little closer to a virtual jam across the miles, here is an example of what BandHub did:
