blueslespaultone
i have a question, my les paul is a 2006 double cut ebony plaintop, with burstbucker pros and grover tuners. a beast of an axe. the colors black with cream binding give it a vintage look and feel, that i really dig. however the grover tuners are awesome, but can i swap them out for vintage looking ones, i would like to get them either cream or mint green color. how are they staying in tune compared to grovers. thanks in advance
sktn77a
The vintage tuners have 2 screws whereas the Grovers (if they are the ones I'm thinking of) have 1. If your present tuners stay in tune, the new ones will. 99% of all tuning problems are the nut slots, not the tuners.
The Mick
I never keep the tuners just don't like em. But then I'm real hard on my guitars. oops I said hard on
Blonde Beauty
I recomend you to keep the Grovers, cause they are smoother and have less tendency to detune.
