jimmiJAMM
Still considering buying this '67. Below is a photo of the guts. Can you please tell me if this looks 100% original? I realize you can't read the numbers on the pots but from what you can see does it look like it's been rewired, replaced or messed with in any way? Thanks! hbomb76
It looks pretty much original (my only question would be the black tape or whatever under the lug-sides of the pots, but that might've been there as a groundout-prevention), but as long as it's got quality innards I wouldn't worry myself too much over 100% virgin pots and stuff. The wires look right for the era, and the joints look clean enough. I'd just plug it in and see if it whispers and screams like it's supposed to, and if so, just enjoy it. 80LPC
Now that's what I call shielding ! And as usual, hbomb is right about the insulation to prevent grounding.
elantric
YEs - and I agree - thats what a '67 control cavity looks like Also note the output jack is same type employed in similar era Thomas Organ Crybaby Wah Wah pedals. While you have the cover off, Look out for that bare ground wire close to the Output jack - Plug in a guitar cord and be sure that bare ground wire never touches the "tip" connection of the Plug. jimmiJAMM
Not entirely sure how this works. If the serial number is 000008 does that mean it's the eighth guitar made that year?
