Has anyone tried the new vintage reissue pure nickel strings in the new packaging?  If so are they just the same as the old ones or is their a difference"  Jim

I haven’t yet but I’m tempted to spring for a set or two. Strings I will not buy again, Ernie Ball Slinky’s  9.5 gauge. I put a set on three of my guitars and I don’t like them.  Changed the tone for the worst.

Wow basic question..Gibson should have chimmed in with a simple answer to this. I'm still looking for an accurate replacement for my personal dwindling stock of 740XL nickel plated steel strings Gibson used to manufacture on they're own machines.
