bd24
Hi there, I am new to electric guitars. I have been playing my 2020 Gibson Les Paul since December and I LOVE IT!!! I really need to step up my game with effects pedals and I'm here to learn as much as I can. Any thoughtful suggestions would be welcome!!! NighthawkChris
Hi @bd24 welcome to the forum. Nice to hear you like your new LP and hope for many years of enjoyment playing it. What kind of effects are you particularly interested in and what kind of amp do you have? A good amp is the most important thing because of you are lacking here, it’s going to be tough to make everything work. This is definitely a good way to step up your game. Of course the amp you get should complement the types of music you play.
bd24
Sorry for the late response. I currently have a Fender Blues Jr amp and really enjoy it. I really enjoy playing rock music along with modern types of music. My kids like to “play”/sing along with me. It’s fun family time.
Mr. Natural
Welcome to the Gibson forum! With a Blues Jr. (a great little amp), you really don't need an overdrive pedal or a reverb pedal. A fuzz might be nice, if you're into fuzz. Anything else is up to you. Look at the customer ratings (Sweetwater Sound is good) for different pedals you might be interested in... ...my two cents.
