mph6string
On round two of Gibson shipping a Sheryl Crow Country Western to me, the new guitar is in much better overall condition but it does have this interesting mark on the top which is not in the finish, it is visible in the wood (the nitro is smooth over this). I presume it's just a mark in the spruce that was highlighted by the baking process - anyone know what this might be called in case I sell this thing and want to describe it in a description? Is it bear claw?

It literally looks like a wrinkle in the wood, much like you’d wrinkle a piece of paper if you creased it. But I don’t have the patience to go through another round of sending it back - i will likely just run it up to Nashville and see if I can sell it without too much of a loss. badbluesplayer
There's nothing wrong with that. There's a crease in the grain that's just a normal variation in the wood.
