monstajosh Posted February 6, 2023 Share Posted February 6, 2023 Hi, I was looking at purchasing a Standard les Paul and the serial number was not coming back with the guitar model that the guitar supposedly was This is the serial number on the headstock 119630389 When I search the Gibson Serial Number look up, it coems back as an acoustic Plant: Bozeman, MT (Acoustic) / Nashville, TN Electric I thought this was odd. I also note the card in the case had a slightly different serial number to the headstock 10983034 That serial returned nothing. I was just curious if I am perhaps searching incorrectly, or interpreting the info wrong or, if this is all a bit dodgy and perhaps a Chibson? What do you think? kidblast Posted February 6, 2023 Share Posted February 6, 2023 Some detailed photos might help us determine if it's an Authentic gibson Serial numbers alone can be problematic in determining a counterfeit as those too are able to be copied.
