Guido_59 Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 Spare parts for Epiphone Les Pauls Good morning everyone from Italy Some time ago I inherited a guitar that is an adaptation of an Epiphone Les Paul elitist which I know for sure has changed the neck and fitted some quality home made pickups, but the rest is original. I would like to change the tuning machines and the tailpiece bridge unit due to some problems and do the job myself without drilling new holes or closing the old ones. Are Epiphone parts available? Where ? Can Gibson spare parts be used, cost separately, or could there be problems with measurements or due to the fact that Epiphone uses metric measurements while Gibson uses inches? I ask this because about 15 years ago on an Epiphone Lucille Made in Korea I changed the fine tuning bridge with the normal Nashville abr-1 ones and used original Gibson spare parts without changing the bushings with the thread inserted in the wood. if I had to take it to a luthier at that point I also change the nut with one in good bone or graphtech. Thanks in advance for the advice Quote
Pinch Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 All I know is Epiphone bridges have slightly different dimensions from their Gibson counterparts, so you can't drop a Gibson bridge on an Epiphone, and vice versa. Quote
Guido_59 Posted August 18, 2023 Author Posted August 18, 2023 Thank you pinch. Fortunately I have found a local luthier despite during this period of holiday in Italy most of activities are closed. I ‘ll bring my guitar to him for check setup to see what work can be done. I shouldn’t spend a lot of money cause my guitar is not a great value guitar excuse me for my language and bye from Italy Quote
