Vintage Stereo Gear - A Pleasant Surprise

I had some old junk laying around and some spare time today so decided to hook it up and see how bad it sounded.

Magnepan MMG speakers (the little guys), Kimber 8TC speaker cables, Sonic Frontiers SFL-2 preamp, Conrad-Johnson MV2275 amplifier and a current Rega Apollo CD player.

It doesn't sound bad at all, it sounds great!  Not the last word in anything and needs a subwoofer hooked up but what a fun sounding system.  Leon Russell's Streaker Ball was a lot of fun to listen to.

Pardon the mess, I wasn't expecting company.

Picked this up 20+ years ago for $450.00. It still works, but due to it's massive size and weight, it is idle for now. (78 lbs.!) Seen it for sale for between $7,500 and $15,000. They call it "The Holy Grail".
