SpcLrdMthrFthr
Picked this up from the nephew of a guy I worked for. Family of musicians and one of them owns a guitar store, which is where this came from. So I know it’s real, but there’s no serial and no stickers. Hasn’t been refinished either so no stamped serial hiding from me . Any ideas? https://imgur.com/a/pnEJ486 https://imgur.com/a/2gsFCSn https://imgur.com/a/jbtdxsT https://imgur.com/a/lm4ThH4
10PoundLester
It's a fake. Notice how there is a lack of symmetry between the two halves of the "open book" headstock shape. Also the image of the neck to body joint shows a step there. Not original. Really bad inlay of the "Gibson" name. Last but certainly not least is the fact that it was painted with a brush. This guitar is a fake all day long. I don't care where it came from. Edited to add this: There are many more telltale signs of this being a forgery. The ones I mentioned are just the most obvious. Another would be the three-ply binding which was never offered on a 335 and the shape of the truss-rod adjustment hole. Yeah, just another version of “it came from my mother’s cousin’s best friend’s aunt, who once played it in a warm up band on tour with some other band.” Edited June 21 by PrairieDog

But if it makes you feel better for me it was a gift so no harm done. Props to Lester that was informative I only ever tried to identify it and gave up a while ago I never thought to look into it being fake
geckobaldy
My 2p Should have 2 glued pieces to sides of headstock to be a Gibson. You should see the joints on the back. I think it should have fret nibs unless removed during a refret.
