Boudreaux
Hi all! Fate has landed my my dream guitar. I recenty scored a 2003 '57 Black Beauty Reissue and I love this thing to death. The only problem is that one of the previous owners lost or discarded the Historic "Les Paul Custom" truss rod cover. I cannot seem to locate another one other than the typical USA ones. Any help please??? Thanks all in advance!!!

ibis
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Truss-Rod-Cover-with-Screws-Les-Paul-Custom?sku=360915 Three cheers for helping but unfortunately our friend needs an Historic version which has much more white around the edge than a modern one. :)

ibis
I found this site in my travels: http://gmvintagerestorations.com/vc/vintageclone.html I hope this is what you've been looking for!
NeoConMan
Great find Ibis! For a little less money, try this site. http://www.custominlay.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=48 If they can't help you, I have a local source that can get pretty close for not much money. The original TRC was mostly white with a thin black veneer on top. Engraving thru the black exposes the white below, hence the white letters. The new correct replacements are called "Historic" now, or something like that. Much more expensive than the regular TRC Gibson sells. I bought a couple and had them engraved locally with my name. ibis
I bought a couple and had them engraved locally with my name. I've been looking for someone in the UK that offers a similar service. No luck so far. Is your local source a regular engraver, as in a jeweller, or is he some other kind of specialist?
