larryp58
So that "custom beauty" of yours made our mouths water! So, give it up- what does she sound like? Did the modifications change the tone and in what way?
John Lee Walker
Hey Larry - Oh yeah, the mods and preamp did wonders to the amped sound of this guitar. First night I tried it I plugged into the house Bose system and when I hit the first chord I had to stop for a minute and ask myself 'is that MY guitar?' It sounded awesome. The highs ring like a bell and I am able to get some decent bottom with those med/light J19s, and it sounds incredible, even thru the Acoustasonic. Well-balanced and crisp - and that's what I like about amplified acoustic, has to be clean - no frills and no effects where you can actually hear the guitar ala natural. This SJ200 is a dream guitar for me - a J200 the way I really want it:)
John Lee Walker
Oh about the tone. If you're wondering if the extra heft and drilled holes dampened the vibes any...not at all noticable by anyone. Still rich and full with good sustain. I'm sure some experts would give minute details about the audio ramifications of such a modification, but hey she sounds good to me:)
