Twiz
Frustrated with how infrequently my current band plays, our bass player and I decided to start a new project. I took out an ad on Craigslist, and much to my surprise I got a handful of good responses. I've got things narrowed down to two dudes. One guy comes from more of an alternative/indie background, and the other guy is a pretty technical metal drummer. I think we could start a band with either; I'm just looking for good chemistry when we jam. We're going to jam with one of them today, and the other next week. I'm pretty excited for this new project. I've never played in a trio before, I think that kind of a line-up is pretty awesome. I dig all the space that everyone is going to have. Now I better step it up on solos...haha. I've got the riffs covered though.

solacematt
If the drummer is really good a 3-piece will sound just fine with one guitar, bass and vocals. With the wrong drummer it'll sound a bit thin. Good luck to ya on your search.
