Good question I suppose it depends on what school he is at, ie is it a school for the musically gifted, do his parents all play and encourage social activities with music etc. Simon, did you see recently on tv the piece about the 9 year old composer? He lives on a council estate and his parents could only afford for him to have 9 months of lessons. He is a superb pianist and also composer. He is currently writing a Requiem.
