E.g., today's stage productions are a helluva lot more complex than even broadway and movie "follies" sorts of things in the era prior to, say, the 1970s. Jackson and his generation and younger had: A) more tools available for productions - including cash Elvis and such as James Brown and Chuck Berry and... as examples.
