GhrT Posted October 29, 2009 Share Posted October 29, 2009 To expand my arsenal of weird effects, I recently ordered the Z.Vex Fuzz Probe. I really can't wait for it to arrive, to put it to the test on my Engl. I'm guessing this will be one of the weirdest and most dangerous boxes I've ever tried, and already had dreams of my amp exploding while using it! Does anyone else here own stuff made by Mr. Vex? I'm pretty curious about what you guys think about it. Back here, nobody has ever heard of it, but I hope they all soon will. They make awesome stuff! EVOL! Posted October 29, 2009 Share Posted October 29, 2009 I played drums for a guy that had one. Killer pedal. The trick seems to be to open the gate wide or your sound will start to choke out before you can milk all of the beautiful sonic assault out of it. On a side note, I never understood putting a gate on a fuzz box. All of the Z Vex stuff is ace. Two of my favorite guitarists, Nels Cline & Stephen Malkmus, both use the Z Vex fuzz factory.
