Californiaman
Out of the blue, well... Switzerland really. Someone offered me $2,300.00 for my Alembic 5-string Spoiler bass today. That's a good offer, but it's staying in the family. It's far below the replacement value if I wanted to buy a new one of this caliber. It is also the only bass I own and I'm not too overly excited about giving her up for $2,300.00 plus shipping. That's a good offer and I could get the amplifier I've been looking at plus the new telecaster I've had my eye on for the last six months.
Murph
Some things are worth more than money California. My '61 Melody Maker has been in my family for 39 years. I don't know what would buy it, but I know 10/15 K wouldn't. Good on ya.
Californiaman
Yeah, Murph... I can still here my youngest son's voice when he recently saw me playing the bass. He was so excited about it's beauty and it's deep bassy sound. He loved it. I can't get rid of something as sentimental as that.
