tazzboy
I've been considering getting me one these things http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tools/Measuring_tools/String_Action_Gauge.html?newshipto=Myself&itmsuf=e1&itemkey=0.0.0670..e1.3.&itmseq=3 for quite some time and I was wondering what your thoughts and opinions are on this from Stew Mac
Lowdown
Stew Mac have some GREAT stuff man. But I find some of it also(string radius gauges for eg.)a waste of time. Can't comment on this as I've never tried it,but thought about it. Give it a go.
tazzboy
Yeah I want to make sure my string action is set up correctly. I've seen the video demo on this and the String radius as well.
Riffster
Frankly, it is all about personal taste, I thought about buying one but I just wing it to what I like. I see that tool more useable to determine if the neck relief is right but not for the action. I do pay attention to recommended pickup height, I seem to like the sounds I get from "standard" height if there is such a thing.

If anything,I see them all as a great reference/starting point.
retrosurfer1959
The string guage and the fret rocker are both great tools use them non-stop great for set-up and worth their weight in gold if you build guitars.
