TheMavericks
Hello everyone! I am new to this forum and this is my very first post on here. I have got a query regarding this vintage Gibson tenor banjo that i rescued last week from a vintage shop. I would be really grateful, if anyone on here could pinpoint the exact manufacturing date and model of this particular banjo, as i have never owned, seen or played a banjo before. I am attaching few pictures of this instrument with this post. Please also tell me what's the approximate worth of this instrument. Just in case, i plan to selling this in future. Cheers! Kevin B
Gibson banjos have a serial number stamped on the inside of the rim. That will date your banjo. The carving on the back of the resonator is not original to Gibson. The above poster is right they can ID it at the Banjo Hangout under the Collector's forum topic area. Especially with the serial number.
