voxampguy
Hey guys, I have an SG Standard brand new at that and wondered if anyone knew if the pickup routes are "universal"? I was considering putting in a P-90 in the neck position but I don't want to do any routing. The other option of course would be a Lindy Fralin P-92 in the neck. Anyone have any experience with these?
tbonesullivan
p-90s will not fit in a standard humbucker route. A HB sized P90 equivalent would probably be the best way to go.
voxampguy
Well, what I was asking was is the SG Standard route a standard HB route or universal? I take it by your answer that you think that it is a standard HB route, correct?
BigKahune
The SG Standard has a standard route for a standard HB. BTW, P94s come in standard HB size with a standard HB mounting bracket that fits perfectly in a standard HB route. http://store.gibson.com/Products/Pickups.aspx?Page=2 I've got a set. Really nice. And, congrats on the new Std.
voxampguy
Thanks Kahune, I'll check out the p-94s but I think I'm leaning towards a Fralin P-92 as they are noiseless. Thanks, G www.glenmckenzieroadkings.com
