Andre S
I just want to make sure I don't order the wrong product. If I record using the line out on my Fender amp, is this suitable as an audio interface? I mean, will this work, if: Guitar > Fender Amp , Line Out > Lexicon Alpha USB Interface > PC w audacity software?
ChanMan
While I've never used that particular product, it does appear to be what you're looking for (not knowing the amp, either) It comes with Cubase LE recording software... Audacity may be optional

Audacity recognizes all of it. Is that what ya needed? I use a similar product by Yamaha and it works just fine.

gearhead
It should work, no problem. The line out on your amp is a "line level" output, as long as the input on your interface is a line level input you shouldn't have any problem. I use an M-Audio Pre-usb interface in the same manner and it works fine!
ChanMan
How else could the line out work? I've had issues with the line outs on a couple of my old Marshall SS amps. Line out would work sometimes and sometimes not so much. /shrug I guess I've learned to doubt them. I'm not being intentionally vague... there are a lot of hoops to jump through' date=' like your OS, what is already installed and their ASIO driver compatibility for instance. From what I read of the reviews on that site, I didn't see anything that told me it was crap, or that you would have any trouble. I do know that when I installed Guitar Rig Mobile it killed Audacity... as in it won't even launch anymore, even after a re-install. So in my experience, there is at least a small chance that you might have an issue. If I had used this product before, I could be more definitive. (See AXE®'s post re: "if you don't know, STFU" ) I hope this helps.
Blackie
Line outs could vary in that some may be a direct line out, while say on my Marshall AVT head it has an emulated line out which means all the effects the amp provides and the souond coming out of the speakers is emulated at an acceptable signal level to input into the computer. djroge1
I have the Alpha/Cubebase but I've only used it with a microphone and not the line in. In theory it will work as long as you don't clip the signal going in.
